How To Make Time Slow Down

Hey guys,

How are you all doing? Lately it seems like time is just flying with a crazy speed.  I can’t believe we are almost to the end of June.  This year has been one of the fastest years of my life. I am someone that likes to think about the future a lot. I am a planner and I often neglect Living in the moment because I am thinking of my next move. This is not a good quality, so I am trying to be more present in my life. Every moment is precious, so I will embrace it as much as I can. With this in mind,  here are some of my tips for living in the moment and making time “slow down”.

  1.  Chill out with the pictures

Social media has created a lifestyle obsession with taking pictures. The idea is to “capture the moment”. However, if you are so busy trying to Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook, etc, you might miss out on actually experiencing the Memory. While I am not opposed to pictures for memories,  I do advise that you limit the amount of pictures you take.  When you are actively engaging in the moment, your brain will store the stimuli into your longterm memory.

2.  Journal

Reflection is very important in life. Taking the time to write down thoughts about your day, or what happened in your day can make the memory last longer. Journaling is also a great stress reliever.

3.  Don’t Overload Your Schedule

This is a big one that I need to work on. Although an idle mind is a devil’s workshop, having an excessively long to-do list is going to make you to exhausted to enjoy your life.  The key is finding balance. You don’t want to be too bored to the point where your days feel like eternity, yet you want to create enough space in your schedule for “me-time.”  You don’t have to go through life jumping on to the next thing. Sit back and smell the roses sometimes.

That’s all I have for today. I hope that you enjoyed this topic and found it helpful. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, feel free to reach me at the contact section.

Have an amazing day,

Abisola XoXo
