It is no surprise that Indian Ministers have always been treated as V.I.Ps. These V.I.P’s are the lawmakers and the lawbreakers at the same time. The Indian rules and regulations that the citizens abide by are useless to them. This V.I.P culture has always disrupted the growth of India. But, no more with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in power.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is trying to eliminate the V.I.P culture that has been practiced since the birth of our nation. This influence resulted in an inspection at Uttar Pradesh former Chief Minister’s home. The Electricity department paid a secret visit and found about his unpaid electricity bill. And to our surprise, this Electricity Bill is worth Rs. 4 lakh.
And this was not enough, Electricity Department revealed that he was using more Electricity than he was allowed to. His allowed limit for electricity usage was 5kW. But his electricity usage was 8 times of that limit. His current usage limit was 40 kW and this was provided by the officials for his comfort.
An Electricity Officer when interviewed said, “We are conducting a drive to stop power theft, check overloading and recover dues,”. On being asked why this was not done before, he replied, “We did not have 40 kW meters earlier. Now we do.”
It’s only been a month and the new Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister has shown us that there will be a ban on V.I.P culture. These V.I.Ps are elected by the non-V.I.Ps but turn into V.I.Ps after the election. Every citizen should have equal right and Ministers should abide by the rules and regulations too. We hope to see an end to this V.I.P culture.
