WAEC Said To Charge Extra Fee For Collection of GCE Certificates As Custody Fee, Order Than 4 Years

The West African Examinations Council  [WAEC] has advised GEC Candidates/WAEC to try to collect their Result within four [4] years of writing the examination as any delay beyond that will therefor attract a Custody Fee.

According to WAEC; the normal charge for the Certificates were issued between zero to four years.
"But from five to nine is N8,500; 10years to 14years N13,500; 15years to 19years N18,500 while 20years and above will be charged N23,500."

The above mentioned charged by WAEC are for Custody Fee: for keeping the certificates for so long because its occupied space in Office. Why it will also save as disincentive to others.
Is there any reasons why someone will sit for exams and certificate is ready, yet they will not go for Collection. Then what was the essence of the certificate in the first place?.

This was disclosed by DEMIANUS OJIJEOGU, the Head of Public Affairs Department, WAEC, Nigeria during a phone interview with Journalists.

He also said that requirements for collection of the GCE/WAEC Certificates within Nigeria were an application letter, sworn affidavit from the High Court, online result print-out, one passport-size photograph, photo card and identity card.

stay-put to get more gist, and schools that about to announce their Admission Dates, and others........
