Trying new things can be difficult, even impossible for some. It doesn’t help when no one takes you seriously either. This can make you feel inadequate and seem as if nothing will ever happen for you.
Luckily for me my grandpa was an amazing man, this is something I am sure of. He gave me tons of Advice on life. Advice I will always keep near my heart. His words of encouragement have made a major impact on me and the life I lead. Even four years after he passed away. Those words echo in my mind much more now than they did at twenty-one.
Now, he gave me dating advice like always opening the door for your date and never ever sleep with someone on the first date. I’ve definitely messed that one up, sorry grandpa. He’s also always told me to go after my dreams and to grow with them and to never let myself give up on the life I see myself living.
The best advice he gave me that I’m listening to now is “no one will ever take you seriously at first. Most people won’t ever take you seriously until you reach what their idea of success is to them. So keep doing what you love even if no one ever takes notice”.
This piece of advice is something I want to share with the world. I see countless people giving up on their ambitions simply because others are not Paying Attention. Well here is something I’ve learned: PEOPLE ARE BUSY.
We are all living life and all struggling to accomplish our goals. Yes, ideally everyone would support each others efforts but that’s not the world we live in. Is it jealously? Is it indifference? I don’t think it’s either of these things, for the most part. Sometimes I will see people on social media throw a tantrum about people not paying attention to their projects. The thing we all need to remember is not everyone is going to support you at first. Hell, you may be the only person who believes in you. But this is important. You HAVE to believe in yourself. Especially when no one else does.
People don’t care usually. Most people won’t ever notice what you are doing until you find success in it. Until you blow them away.
So, if you are trying your hardest to make those wild dreams of yours come true. Keep trying regardless of the people around you. Keep pushing forward. If you give up simply because the world doesn’t take you seriously then you never took yourself seriously either.
Be the first person to take yourself seriously. Trust in yourself. Make those wild dreams turn into reality.
