Tamiya Ford F-350

The Ford F-350 is one of the more trusted off-road pickup trucks in the world. Tamiya has an RC version of this vehicle with an outstanding high-lift package added onto it. Redcat Racing Shockwave

Those who are willing to use nitro fuel in their vehicles should see what the Redcat Racing Shockwave offers. It is one of many off road RC cars that run on nitro fuel, an energy source that is more concentrated than traditional fuel. It requires additional maintenance as the nitro fuel tank has to be cleaned out regularly. But when used right, the fuel creates a more powerful setup.

Designed as a racing buggy, it is a 1:10 scale model vehicle. An aluminum chassis is added to reduce it's overall weight while the oil-filled shocks  are utilized to keep all that power on ground, no matter how rough it is. Each shock towers is fully adjustable and easy to change.

Powering the Shockwave, the 2.67cc nitro engine comes with an easy to use pull starter. Once started, the engine provides this off-road RC car's four-wheel drive system plenty of continuous power to help it conquer almost any terain. Vatos RC Storm Chariot

The Storm Chariot is the next of the off-road RC cars to explore. As an electric car, Vatos opted to provide it a lithium battery to provide this machine the energy it needs. This 1:12 scale vehicle utilizes an independent suspension system with helical springs on each tire and can travel at about 30 mph. However, this car's transmitter only has a control range of about 50 feet or so.

One great feature, especially at this price range, is the metal gears used in the transmission and three-stage differential gear transfering all the power to the wheels.  Not only does it quietly and efficiently move all that power to the turf, but it is also very durrable compared to the typical plastic parts used.

Vatos did a good job of distributing the weight evenly along the entire length of the vehicle.  This is a great benefit when work with off-road RC cars because you have more consistent control over the vehicle on multiple terrains.
