Former Espanyol midfielder, Mubarak Wakaso has dismissed the claims that the current generation of Black Stars is self-regarding.

Wakaso stated that he would play for his nation even if it is for free.
These sort of rumors surfaced after players threatened to skip their group match against Portugal if their appearance fees were not paid.

But Wakaso has dismissed such claims by stating that he would play for free but the problem is if you are promised and not paid it upsets you.

He further justified his point by stating that like every human you get upset when someone promises you and later do not fulfill their word.
Wakaso insisted that:

“I am sure that most of my colleagues will still give their 100% to this nation even if it is for free”.

Wakaso is likely to play a key role in Black Stars pursuit of AFCON 2017.
