UK Fashion Update - AW13

The sun may be shining and the temperature quite warm but the nights are starting to draw in signalling that Autumn is not too  far away. Whilst you are enjoying the last of the summer by sitting in the sunshine, holding a barbeque or making the most of the summer sales, we have been hard at working checking out which looks will be hot for AW13.

Shift dresses are a great shape that works well for both summer and winter and will continue to come back into fashion year after year because they are super versatile and such an easy style to wear. This autumn, the shift dress is set to take you from office to bar with ease with plenty of textured, patterned and embellished designs to add a little interest to your outfit. For daytime add a classic jacket and blazer and for the evening add a little bling perhaps with a statement necklace or some big earrings. We prefer to invest in sustainable fashion and their are plenty of shift dresses on style-is.co.uk

Statement Jewellery will continue to be big news this autumn and winter. A new necklace, earrings or bracelet is the perfect way to update your wardrobe without having to buy lots of new clothes. When it comes to statement jewellery, the more different and unique you can find the better. We are particularly loving necklaces by innovative designers like Joanna Cave who uses recycled materials in her designs and fair trade brands like People Tree and Manumit create beautiful jewellery with intricate detail.

Bright and colourful prints are another great look that will help to cheer up your day this autumn and winter. Dresses, blouses, skirts and trousers are all good ways to wear prints. If you are brave and creative enough, you could even try mixing up your prints. If you want to add a bit of pattern to your winter wardrobe without breaking the bank check out your nearest charity shop. Stripes, spots, florals, abstracts and leopard prints just keep on coming back into fashion again and again.

What are your favourite looks for brightening up a dull winters day?
