I'm waking up to a quiet sun.

I missed Kingston and I missed winter but I did not miss the SADS. I am in a habit of not wanting to share when I'm feeling extra grumpy and recluse. I like to change it up. SAD drags out the depression in the worst, yet completely forgivable way. I can blame it on the SAD. What's wrong? Oh, you know. It's dark outside and I never see the sun anymore so I just want to sleep all day and not think about anything. it's my SAD's fault that I just want to curl up in bed and sleep for a week. SAD makes everything make sense.

I also didn't miss my toes freezing together.

I'm scared to take my camera out there in the snow. I can just hear Brian's lion-roar in the distance if I get so much as a snowflake on the lens. It'll be curtains for me. And possibly for my camera. I'm a little bit of a butterfingers, you see. I drop things all of the time. Every day. I will be holding it, a book, a cell phone, money, your baby and next thing you know it BOOM thing's all on the ground. I do have to get myself out there and you know, be a photographer again instead of a mopey instagrammer-spammer.

Brian turned our hobbit hole into a Christmasy hobbit hole. You do have to admit our Charlie Brown Christmas tree is pretty adorable. I do love our moustache and sequins whale ornaments. Next year it'll be a bigger tree, now that we're collecting some pretty awesome ornaments I want to show them off a bit.

Living downtown Kingston during Christmas sure brings back some crazy memories of being a youngin. Mostly memories of walking around in the freezing cold because of the lack of a car. We'd be walking around with our faces crammed in our scarves talking about how in the future we'd be driving and complaining about not having winter tires. It's funny how sometimes you think you're moving up but you're really just skidding sideways.

We have finished most of our Christmas shopping thanks to a wonderful little website called ThinkGeek so we can kick back and start the Christmas baking. Well, more like Brian can start the baking. That's his speciality. Meat pies and shortbread and chocolate until my pants don't fit anymore, please and thank-you! He really is the best wife.
