George Zimmerman Says He’s $2.5 Million in Debt, Too Broke to Afford Lawyer

George Zimmerman is $2.5 million in debt, broke, unemployed, and in need of a lawyer for his latest legal case.

The acquitted murderer filed an application for criminal indigent status in hopes of receiving a public defender in his latest criminal case. Zimmerman claims to be $2.5 million in Debt and unemployed with zero income.

The court appeared to show mercy for Zimmerman and agreed to give him a public defender. This time around the Florida resident is facing a stalking charge after he allegedly harassed a private investigator who contacted him for an interview for Jay-Z‘s upcoming documentary on Trayvon Martin.

17-year-old Trayvon Martin was murdered by Zimmerman in 2012 after he followed the teenager due to his suspicion of him being inside the gated community. Martin’s father lived in the complex and he was walking home while talking to his friend on the phone and wearing a hoodie that contained a bottle of Sprite and a pack of Skittles.

Zimmerman approached Martin to question him and a scuffle ensued. Zimmerman ended up shooting Martin in the chest where he eventually died on the spot from his injuries.

Zimmerman was acquitted of murder due to Florida’s Stand Your Ground law and has had countless domestic run-ins with the law that has led to him being arrested multiple times since Matin’s death.
