Diezani-Allison Madueke is a Nigerian Politician who was born December 6, 1960 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria . Diezani-Allison Madueke is the is a former Nigerian Minister of Petroleum Ressources. Her father is a rayal man called his royal highness Chief Frederick Abiye Agama from a wealthy and Nigerian family . She was born into a royal and wealthy family in the Epie clan from Yenaka community in Yenegoa local government area of Bayelsa State, lived up to that reputation of royalty, luxuriating in opulence fit only for a princess as she bestrode the corridors of Nigeria’s power house, Aso Rock Villa under former President Jonathan.
The political princess was born three months after Nigeria’s independence from British colonial rule, her father, King Frederick Abiye Agama was among the first set of Ijaw leaders to study abroad at the revered University of Southampton where he pocketed a degree in Economics. The highly respected king is among the first set of few Nigerians that were members of the management staff of Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC).
Young Diezani was born with a silver spoon and was able to enjoy what other kids around her couldn’t enjoy becausse everything she ever needed was provided for her . She is the third child out of six children in her family and she enjoyed the best of childhood . Diezani was also the first set of Black kids to have access to the swimming pool at Shell club, Port Harcourt which was every kids dream as at that time .
The former Nigerian Minister of Petroleum Ressources attended Howard University in the United States and also hold a degree in architecture which she studied in England . In the main time, She wrapped up her education at Howard with a Bachelor’s degree on December 8, 1992.

Ten years later that was in the year 2002, Deziani proceeded to Cambridge University to further her education because she was very eager to bag more degrees to the once she already had . This time , she went for her MBA which went successful. Fast forward to April 2006, Deziani was appointed the first female Executive Director of Shell in Nigeria.
After her studies in Nigeria and abroad , she decided to settle down and start her own family . Deziani Alison Madueke got married to Admiral Allison Madueke (retired) they tied the knot back in 1999 and they have been together since then . Admiral Allison Madueke is one-time Chief of Naval Staff, who was at various times, the governor of Imo and Anambra State. Deziani has two sons, Chimezie Madueke and Ugonna Madueke.
In September 2011 , Deziani Alison-Madueke was awarded an honorary Doctorate in Management Sciences by the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna. She has also held numbers of significant positions at the federal level . Talking of Minister of Transport in July 2007. she was appointed the Minister of Mines and Steel Development on December 23, 2008 . When Goodluck Ebele Jonathan became the President of Nigeria in February 2010, the previous cabinet he met was dissolved on 17 March 2010 and he appointed members of his new cabinet on April 6, 2010, Alison-Madueke was appointed Minister for Petroleum Resources.
In March 2010, Mrs Alison-Madueke was appointed as Honourable Minister of Petroleum Resources . Having been appointed as the Minister of Petroleum Resources , she pledged to transform Nigeria’s oil and gas industry in such a way that it would benefit all Nigerians. When Deziani Alison-Madueke had already become minister , President Goodluck Jonathan signed into law, the Nigerian Content Act, which aims to increase the percentage of petroleum industry contracts which are awarded to indigenous Nigerian businesses – a sharp change to the previous domination of the sector by foreign operators in April 2010 precisely .
While Deziani Alison-Madueke was still minister , One of the most controversial policies in the oil sector was introduced – The Nigerian government planned to remove state subsidies on fuel prices( Fuel subsidies removal). Alison-Madueke had proposed the discontinuation of the subsidy, giving reasons that it poses a huge financial burden on the government and that the burden disproportionately benefits the wealthy, and encourages inefficiency, corruption and diversion of scarce public resources that could be used for investment in critical infrastructure. Deziani Alison-Madueke was the first woman to hold the position of Minister of Petroleum Resources in Nigeria and she is also the first woman to head the country’s delegation at the annual OPEC conference October 2010. Deziani Alison-Madueke is the first woman to be appointed as a member of the board of Shell Petroleum Development Company in Nigeria and the first woman to become the Minister of Transportation in Nigeria .
