International Dolls Museum for Children in Chandigarh

Established in 1985, the International Dolls Centre is totally a unique concept of museum. This museum is meant to be one of the best in terms of creativity and designing throughout India. Situated in the Bal Bhavan in sector 23, chandigarh the museum is kept under the guidance of the Indian Council of Child Welfare. The main purpose of the museum is to give some sort of amusement to the children. As Dolls and fairies are the most loved toys by the children.

International Dolls Museum has a huge collection of dolls, puppets gathered from all over the world. There are nearly 260 different kinds of dolls which are collected from countries like Korea, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, Russia and Denmark. The unique and beautiful museum displays the child and elders like dolls. There is one more section in the dolls museum that being, Indian Section where dolls are dressed in different attires worn by various regions of India like Assam, Punjab, West Bengal etc. Also, the famous characters of fairy tales are recreated using dolls which are a delight to watch for children. A giant replica of Germany Railway Station have been displayed on the background of Ceramic Frescos which depicts the milestones of various countries. There is a small fish aquarium which sits in the center of the museum’s hall. The handmade paintings of the children are displayed for sale at the dolls museum. This place also consists of a park and canteen for their complete enjoyment.

The main attraction of the International Dolls Museum is the toy train ride for children. International Dolls Museum is open from 10 A.m to 5 P.M.
