Maa Ashapuri temple is considered as the form of Mata Vaishno Devi. Mata Ashapuri’s temple is situated on a hill about 15 km away from Panchurukhi. This temple is made in the 16th century. According to mythological stories, it is believed that during the Dvapar era, Pandavas had spent some days in the caves named Malli, about 4 km from Mata Ashapuri during their unknown exile. It is said that when Karna reached Mali caves to dissolve the Pandavas’ exile, he could not find Pandavas there, but the Mata Ashapuri was seen in this cave. Karna found Pindi of Mata Ashapuri and built a magnificent temple there, which is famous today as Mata Ashapuri temple.

At the distance of 2 km away from Mata Ashapuri temple, a Pindi of Mata Vaishno Devi has appeared. It is believed that Mata Vaishno Devi had appeared in the dream of a milk seller. When he got up in the morning and went to the cave seen in his dream, and removed a stone from there, then he got the already built road. When he entered in that way, he found there three Pindies of Mata Vaishno and statues made by stones of goddesses-deities. At the little distance from there, you can see Baba Bhedh Nath Ji also situated in this cave, where people ask for blessings from Baba to protect their animals.
