HMD Global has confirmed that it will be bringing the Android 9 Pie software update to its entire portfolio of Nokia branded Android smartphones. While a timeframe hasn't been announced its great to know that the Finnish company is allowing everyone who purchased on of their handsets to enjoy the latest version of Android.
The list of Nokia smartphones set to receive Android 9 Pie include:
- Nokia 1 (Android Go)
- Nokia 2
- Nokia 2.1 (Android Go)
- Nokia 3
- Nokia 3.1
- Nokia 5
- Nokia 5.1
- Nokia 6
- Nokia 6.1
- Nokia 6.1 Plus
- Nokia 7 (China-exclusive)
- Nokia 7 Plus
- Nokia 8
- Nokia 8 Sirocco
- Nokia X6 (China-exclusive)
- Nokia X5 (China-exclusive)
Since the Nokia 7 Plus has been part of the Android P Beta Program, we expect it will be the first handset to be updated to Android 9 Pie. It should be followed by the other high-end flagships like the Nokia 8 and Nokia 8 Sirocco. Android Go handsets are likely going to receive quick updates as well
