Numerous upcoming artists are being offered opportunities to be a part of big budget films despite of their minimal experience. The reason behind this is that their talent is much more commendable than the experience they have. Recently, upcoming singer Shahid Mallya received a wonderful response for his song Saaiyan, from the film Gunday. He got noticed in Bollywood, after which film producers Sajid Nadiadwala and Karan Johar signed him to render his voice for the song Iski Uski from their movie 2 States. The music for this Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer has been composed by the famous trio, Shankar Ehsaan Loy. Shahid is willing to create his own band after such success and is also in the process of recording a few songs for the same.
Also, Shahid Mallya has a couple of other Bollywood assignments in his hand currently, which includes a song from Phantom. Sajid Nadiadwala has roped in the singer to sing a song for his upcoming film starring Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif. Sajid took this decision immediately after he heard Shahid singing Iski Uski from 2 States. Talking about working with Shankar Ehsaan Loy in 2 States, Shahid Mallya said, “The best part of working with Shankar Sir was that he talks to the singers in a very respectable manner and this is where you actually realise the humility of the person. I got a little cautious while singing as Shankar Mahadevan himself is a great singer. The song is picturised on the film's lead actor, Arjun Kapoor when he enters college. It will remind you of the song, 'Kukkad' from the movie 'Student of the Year'.” Iski Uski was recorded a year ago and the final changes in the lyrics were made a month back.
Since Shahid Mallya has completed work on 2 States, he might soon start recording for a song from Sajid Nadiadwala’s Phantom!
