Guide frame and Rule of thirds

If you are a beginner and brought a new camcorder for the first time I am pretty sure that you might have noticed that horizontal and Vertical Lines from the Guide Frame function, dividing the camcorder LCD monitor into nine equal parts. Ever wondered what are they?

In any camcorder or video camera the Guide frame is for placing our main objects on the juncture or points where these horizontal and vertical lines cross with each other.

Rule of thirds
In video cameras or camcorders the Guide frame is simply a graphical representation of Rule of thirds. According to this rule, contrary to popular belief, on any given rectangle or square frame with a certain aspect ratio,  the middle area is not the center of attraction but those junctions or points are, where the horizontal and vertical lines cross with each other.
