Karan Johar ignores illness to complete Bombay Talkies shoot!

Karan Johar has been tied up with the direction and production of several upcoming films, one of which is the short Film, Bombay Talkies. For this film, Karan has directed a 20-minute part that will be joined with 3 more short films by directors Anurag Kashyap, Dibakar Banerjee and Zoya Akhtar. Recently, while completing the shoot for his part, Karan Johar took ill. An insider said, “Karan was running a high temperature. Plus, he was throwing up. So he took a day off. But the next day, he was back on the sets and shooting continuously for three reasons - deadline, budget and the stars’ dates.”

Stalling the shoot of the film due to his illness would result in escalated costs. Also, given the fact that Karan had Randeep Hooda, Rani Mukerji and Saqib Saleem's dates, the Dharma Productions chief didn’t think it wise to cancel the shoot and appeared on sets despite his illness. “Plus, Karan was also concerned that the stipulated budget might go up if the shoot was postponed. Also, he had got Randeep Hooda, Rani Mukerji and Saqib Saleem's dates and didn't want to waste them,” added the insider.

Karan has finally wrapped up the Bombay Talkies shoot and is currently working on the post-production of the film. Quoting the insider, “He is busy with its postproduction and editing. He is excited about it and can’t wait to start work on its release strategies and marketing.” Bombay Talkies will release on the 3rd of May, 2013, and will commemorate the 100 years of Hindi cinema. The release will also mark the date the Father of Indian cinema, Dadasaheb Phalke, released Raja Harishchandra, India’s first motion picture.
