We are so looking forward to see Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s upcoming movie, Babumoshai Bandookbaaz, that is scheduled to release on August 25 for various reasons. For one, Nawazuddin Siddiqui is playing the main lead in the movie which looks to be a darkly comic thriller. Secondly, his character is interesting – he plays a rustic contract killer playing a game of one-upmanship with an up and coming killer. The new dialogue trailer focuses on this aspect of his character.

So while his love story with Bidita Bag is put on a backburner for now, the new trailer has him spar with the young protege turned competitor as to who will achieve the faster kills. Some of the scenes like the tie-breaker scene involving Murali Sharma, and that ‘pat rahi hai’ dialogue were seen in the original trailer. There is a hilarious scene in there, involving the cop, who is tired of having another son (a twist on the gender inequality issue). Watch the trailer here…

Babumoshai Bandookbaaz was in news recently when the Pahlaj Nihalani-led CBFC proposed 48 cuts for the movie. Speaking to a newspaper, director Kushan Nandy had ranted against the Board saying, “First and foremost, we don’t have humping scenes. They are love-making scenes. I am shocked and appalled with what has happened. If you notice the cuts, there’s a sentence, ‘Yeh kaahe ka c******a hai.’ We use such sentences in our everyday life. The excuse given to us is that children also sneak into Cinema Halls to watch adult films. How is that my problem? Penalise the cinema halls for this, not the producers. The way they have dealt with our film is insulting. They humiliated Kiran (the producer) which is unpardonable.”

However, his happiness knew no bounds when the movie was passed by FCAt with just 8 minor cuts. He shared his happiness on Twitter, saying, “FCAT clears #BabumoshaiBandookbaaz with 8 minor, voluntary cuts. Despite #PahlajNihalani ‘s last letter to stop it.
