For Those of us who want to own face with allies without paying half hundred dollars or a regular subscription fee, there may be no better choice than good ol' Team Fortress 2

The game runs off the half life engine and has decidely cartoonish look but features fast paced team combat.
You'll need Steam to acess the games multilayer only servers and are rewarded with a few better items once you reach time/achievement/class requirements.

One of the things which seperates Team Fortress 2 from the competition is game balance. Unlike most competitive games all of Team Fortresses nine classes can be viable depending on how the situation and opposing setup.  Each class is divided by role into three categories.

                                         Offensive classes

Scout- Amred Only with a pistol and scattergun the scout makes up in mobility what it lacks in firepower. Can move twice as fast as most classes in the game and can double jump to get into tactical spots.

Pyro- Equip flamethrower Charge.

Soldier- Armed with a roacket launcher and shotgun the Soldier is slightly harder to play than the pyro. If all else fails though you can shoot at peoples feet and relay on area of effect dmg to get kills.



                                         Defensive Classes

Demolitions Man- Hands down probably the hardest class to get kills with. Armed with a sticky gun and pipe bombs which can be pretty lethal once youre know what youre doing. Nubs not advised.

Heavy- The Big Man of Team Fortress 2. Armed with a "mini-gun" and a shootgun but slow moving. Heavy Medic combo is probably one of the most popular rush tactics.

Engineer-Armed with a shotgun a cheap ass pistol and the ability to build defenses and health dispensers. Be sure to build your dispenser At game start so other players dont get all Pmsey.


                                         Support

Sniper-Besides the Pyro probably the easiest class to get kills with once you have the marksman. Just find you a good spot aim hold and nailem to the wall

Medic- The Only class with the ability to heal other players. If you can get the upgrade playing battle medic isnt that sucky either.
                                                        

Spy-Both the suckiest and most hated class. Armed with a pistol and the ability to one shot anyone it can sneak behind but with very little health. Can be seriously overpowered if you know what youre doing. If not its lol for the most part.
