Sonchiriya Movie Review

The best part we see is Sushant Singh Rajput and his men speak in Bundelkhandi throughout the film. Director Abhishek Chaubey glides us into the harsh lifestyle of bandits. The story is simple and the actors are a thrill. In the search for the golden bird, the ‘sonchiriya’, incidents have layered the film gets lost. The people out there speak of there but at the same time can not leave this life because they have never known anything better. It’s cruel, pointless and vengeful because it’s almost all on the surface except for a few moments.

We feel this conversation repeated in the movie. The film is meant to be full of action and the daakus speak a lot but the exhaustion of the ‘daakus’ is what we see. Sushant Singh Rajput, playing a man called Lakhna a name that may automatically damn the wearer to banditry duty-bound character not ready to compromise at all. While Manoj Bajpai is excellent as a rebel chief, holding up the theme with the practiced ease of a professional breaking out his routine, Bhumi Pednekar, roles up as a desperately feisty woman on the run holding her self strongly.

143 minutes of Sonchiriya wouldn’t let you crave for a spicier set-up. However, unfortunately, it performed very poorly at the Box office and was declared a commercial disaster.
