Bisi Silva, the more younger sister of famous veteran Nollywood on-screen character, Joke Silva, has passed away. The lady who was an artistic director allegedly kicked the bucket on Tuesday, February 12, subsequent to engaging battling cancer.
As per PMNews, the late artistic director had died around 3:45pm on Tuesday, in Lagos state. Joke Silva who is grieving over the demise of her sister shared Bisi’s photograph as tribute to the deceased on her Instagram page. She expressed: “Thou mastering me God…”

The deceased is the founder and artistic director of the Centre for Contemporary Art. The centre was opened in 2007. She also founded the Asiko International Art School in Lagos.
Bisi Silva loved her craft and made sure she achieved as many degree as she could. She achieved her first degree in Foreign Languages in Paris, then earned her two year masters in visual arts (curating and commissioning of contemporary Art) at the Royal College of Art in London.

When she moved over to Nigeria, she blossomed in her field, earning the respect of not only major artists but wealthy art collectors too.
Bisi curated numerous important exhibitions in Nigeria, Africa and Europe. These exhibitions included ”Democrazy”, Playing with Chance: El Anatsui” and ”J.D. Okhai Ojeikere: Moments of Beauty.” She was in her fifties.
In October 2015, she presented a fascinating coffee table book, J.D. OKHAI OJEIKERE, in Lagos. The book is the most comprehensive archive of powerful photographs of over six decades of Ojeikere.
