Boost Your Immunity This Monsoon Like This

How many times did you sneeze today? Or when was the last time you felt a heaviness in the head, felt a cold coming on and were just not feeling that good?

The rains are here and we’re getting used to wading through the rain water and reaching our destinations all soaked and drenched. And along with it, we’re also kind of getting used to the sneezing and coughing and the feeling feverish, or seeing others around us doing so.

But rains don’t mean that you have to Fall Sick, not at all. In fact, if you keep a few things in mind, you can actually have a really good time in these months of clouds and rain.

Let’s Start With The Oil

Lighter oils are easier to digest

Whether you cook at home or instruct someone to do it, or even if your mother cooks for you, this is the time when you should switch to some light cooking oils that are easier to digest and will be easy on your Stomach too. For instance, you can try using corn oil or even the highly advertised olive oil during the monsoon months, as these can easily blend in with your digestive system.

Fiber Will Keep Your Stomach Happy

Remember that this is also the time when most of us feel that uneasiness in the stomach. So, a great way to get rid of that is to add more fiber to your diet. Start having light fiber rich foods such as brown rice, red rice, oats and so on. These are very easy to digest, help to remove any toxins from your body, and also help to soothe any inflammation or issues in the stomach. Of course it also keeps your weight in check, so win win.

Get Natural Immunity Boosters In Your Diet

There are many natural ingredients you can easily find in any grocery store in India that are especially good to build up your Immunity. Some such ingredients that you can add in your diet are turmeric, ginger, dried ginger (saunth), cardamom, cinnamon, black pepper, methi seeds, lemon and honey are super foods to boost immunity – so have them as it is, in tea, in soups, in detox water, or however you please.

In addition, make sure to keep drinking water through the day, as many times, we forget to drink enough water when the weather is cool, and this can make us dehydrated and fall sick.
