In fact, it earned three times as much as the second biggest hit of the year, Pyaar Toh Hona Hi Tha, also starring Kajol.
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is also credited with changing the look and feel of Hindi films. It was probably the first time that the traditional Indian film viewers saw protagonists sporting designer clothes and talking in the youth’s language.
