According to the book Priyanka Chopra: The Dark Horse, Priyanka was gearing up to make a grand debut opposite Bobby Deol, in a film directed by Mahesh Manjrekar and produced by Vijay Galani. Right before the film was about to take off, she got a nose job, which threw everything off track.

The book reveals after winning the Miss World pageant she returned after having a nose surgery from London. But it was something worng with her nose and she lost her first film. She then debuted with film Hero: Love Story Of The Spy and before that she lost 7-8 films due to nose and lip surgery.
