What Does Ikea Have To Offer This August?

Next month, Ikea will be releasing a collection of products about connecting to yourself and creating a home that’s personal, organised and comfortable. With a modern take on Scandinavian design, soft pastels and monochromes, this collection will make creating a beautiful home really affordable.

August will bring a great range of new textiles like curtains, cushions and a throw – perfect for relaxing moments. Newly designed lamps set the mood, from simplistic pendant lamps to table lamps. And smaller pieces like brass candle holders can add an  elegant touch to any space.

Trust me, there are some very exciting things to come! Here are a few of my favourites.

The LANDSKRONA series:

Step back in time with the 1960’s inspired LANDSKRONA series that have been given a fresh look with brand new covers. The Scandinavian take on retro sofas, chaise-longue, armchair and footstool are now available with fabric covers in dark grey, or light green. The fixed covers with tufting mean a tight fit – so the furniture comes perfect from the start and maintains its shape over time.

These are a favourite of mine as they are so timeless and would suit almost any home. I also think the colour options are gorgeous and all compliment each other really nicely.

The INSJÖN tap:

This beautiful brass tap would be right at home in Olivia Silk’s (the owner of Lust Living blog) house! The INSJÖN tap has been styled in a traditional way with its brass colour and porcelain handle. However, it’s been produced with a modern surface treatment that resists corrosion and is durable, so it can stay beautiful for years to come.
As an added bonus, the INSJÖN tap is water-saving —doing its bit to help preserve this precious resource too!

The GRADVIS plant pots:

Plants can get an on-trend pastel makeover with the new GRADVIS plant pots. They are available in a smaller pink and a larger grey size, and feature a ribbed surface giving a nice tactile finish and visual effect. They add a decorative touch which blends beautifully with this seasons pastel look.

The ELDTÖREL & SKÄGGÖRT cushion Covers & HARÖRT cushion:

The right cushion can add the finishing touch to any sofa or bed. This month, Ikea
introduces the SKÄGGÖRT cushion cover with golden dots that add some
sparkle to the home, as well as the HARÖRT cushion in grey ramie with stitching
de-tails which gives a luxurious and tactile feel. The ELDTÖREL cushion cover is
designed with brush strokes and created for a fashionable touch to the
home. The Swedish designer Inga Leo was inspired by nature with its
calmness and harmony when she designed ELDTÖREL:

“My inspiration often comes from the nature here in Småland, in southern Sweden. For ELDTÖREL cushion cover, I found a watercolour motif – a memory from a quiet evening by the lake, just as the sun set.”

The BESTÅ VASSVIKEN cupboard door:

Who says storage has to be boring?  Take a look at the new fashionable front for BESTÅ system. With a hexagon pattern on a white background, VASSVIKEN front gives a three-dimensional effect that energises the living room or workspace. And when combining many units next to each other, the patterns are designed to line up perfectly, giving a seamless look.

The EVEDAL lamps:

The EVEDAL pendant lamp and table lamp feature striking Scandinavian design with genuine and honest materials. Aaron Probyn, the British designer behind these lamps, has used a double-layered glass shade, a marble foot and brass details to make the lamps fit in with current trends.

The EVEDAL table lamp has a dimming function, giving a soft light experience, while the pendant lamp has a smart adjustable suspension so you can get the light just right for your room!

The VADHOLMA Kitchen storage:

For an industrial Scandinavian home, VADHOLMA kitchen storage is ideal. With its brown stained ash, it brings a sense of warmth into your home. The storage is a modern take on furniture in Scandinavian old bakeries and butcher shops, with a modern update. It would look at home in a modern scheme as well as a more traditional one.
