New Eco-Friendly Business Comes to Town

A young former corporate investment banker who could never shed dreams to run his own sustainability-focused, green Energy oriented company, achieved his goal in early January when he opened a Supergreen Solutions franchise that offers energy efficiency technologies, products, consultations and systems to a growing renewable energy market throughout the 45 square mile Greater Boston area.

The journey that led 31-year-old Zain Awan, a Boston resident, to open his new Supergreen Solutions store at 163 Hampshire Street, took on momentum as he traveled to Wellsely, MA from his native Pakistan where he enjoyed a successful six year corporate and investment banking career with HSBC, Pakistan. In Wellsely, he earned an MBA from Babson College, and soon after graduating, started his own venture fund, Manzil Capital, one more preparatory step leading to running his own business.

“I was always transitioning from the corporate world and extending my family business footprint,” Awan says, referring to his family’s businesses in mining, commercial agriculture, business process outsourcing and manufacturing in the United Arab Emirates and in Pakistan.

Now Awan anticipates that the market of home owners and businesses seeking to cut energy costs is already ample, and continues to expand across the country and across the globe.

“The clean energy sector is dynamic, with so many great innovations taking place. Most exciting of those are in solar and wind power, making energy efficient technologies cheaper and more accessible. Solar and wind power are no longer niche technologies and are now actively compete with fossil fuels,” Awan says. Furthermore, he senses a trend among cities, states “even entire countries” reaching for 100 percent renewable energy targets. “It is exciting to be able to play a part in realizing this vision of sustainable energy usage.”

His long time passion for sustainability-focused technologies rendered SuperGreen Solutions a perfect fit for Awan. The relatively young, fast growing, technology savvy company was founded in 2011 by an Australian businessman who immediately teamed up with the top franchisor in the U.S. and became part of West Palm Beach based United Franchise Group led by CEO Ray Titus. Immediately Titus recognized enormous global market potential for his eco-products and services. Newly appointed president of SuperGreen Solutions is a leading solar energy expert and founder of several such companies David Goodman.
