Sushma Swaraj has kept an active profile on Twitter where she is seen regularly reaching out to people in need of help (Express Photo by Prem Nath Pandey) 21.03.2016.
Sushma Swaraj has proven to be an able and hands-on politician in the last two years of her term as the country’s External Affairs Minister. One thing that stands out in her term is the buzzing activity on her Twitter profile. She has reached out to all, especially those from the diaspora community who sought help in times of distress. Her ministry has also been applauded for rescuing Indians in crisis situations from the Nepal earthquake to the Yemen war.
But the downside of reaching out via Twitter is that you have to deal with a lot of people, who quite don’t understand the urgency of the situation. A brilliant example came to light Monday night.
Swaraj tweeted out a hilariously honest response to a guy who thought ministers like her pretty much help out in any matter. The guy, who goes by the name of Venkat on Twitter, wanted his defective Refrigerator replaced. Yes, you read that right. He even tweeted out the serial number of the refrigerator which he claims was sold as a defective by a company. He also tagged Ram Vilas Paswan, the Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, along with Swaraj in the tweet.
@irvpaswan @SushmaSwaraj Dear Ministers, @Samsung_IN sold me a defective refrigerator, they r not ready to replace pic.twitter.com/G87Jwh6slD

And then Swaraj, known for quick responses on the micro-blogging platform, tweeted back. And like we said, it was hilarious.
Check it out.
Brother I cannot help you in matters of a Refrigerator. I am very busy with human beings in distress. https://t.co/cpC5cWBPcz

Her tweet was well-received on the platform, getting re-tweeted more than 4,000 times.
Also Samsung Inida got in touch with Venkat as he teets:
@Samsung_IN Yes, Samsung team is in touch with me. tq u.
