More attacks on Freedom, supposedly from Islamic Terrorists, has hit both France and Germany. Nothing changes. When I was a young boy, back in the sixties and seventies, The Troubles was a euphemism used to describe terrorist bombings and shootings in Northern Ireland and the United Kingdom mainland. The IRA and others believed power came from the barrel of a gun and these people killed and maimed innocent people for years. Their aim was cause so much misery and damage that the UK and Irish governments would sue for peace. In some ways, their tactics worked because in 1998 the Good Friday peace accord was signed and The Troubles, mostly, were confined to the pages of history books.
Now we have Muslim terrorists, or rather, those who purport to be Muslim but are in fact making a grab for power and using feeble minded individuals as terrorists to murder people at their behest. Power from the bomb and barrel of a gun.
Nothing changes… except Terrorism is now global and not confined to individual states. The destruction of so-called Islamic State is on top of most right-minded nation’s agenda, but it’s going to take a lot of time and more lives will be lost until that crazy organisation is defeated.
