Senior Met officer faces sack over bullying investigation

Deputy Assistant Commissioner Matthew Horne, a senior Metropolitan Police officer, is facing potential dismissal for allegedly accessing police information to undermine a bullying investigation. Horne was previously found guilty of three counts of misconduct in 2018 but was allowed to keep his job as Deputy Chief Constable of Essex Police with management advice. He is now accused of requesting and using police information in his disciplinary proceedings and of failing to properly report the officer who provided him with the information. If found guilty of gross misconduct, he may be sacked. The hearing is set to conclude on November 21.
