Jeep maker Stellantis has reached a tentative contract agreement with the United Auto Workers (UAW) union, following a similar agreement with Ford. The deal, which still needs to be ratified by members, could end a six-week strike by over 14,000 workers at Stellantis plants. The agreement is expected to mirror the Ford pact, which includes 25% wage increases over the next 4.5 years for top assembly plant workers. The Stellantis deal may also include plans for an idled factory in Illinois to produce electric vehicles and a new battery factory. Talks are ongoing with General Motors to reach a similar agreement.
