India has announced that it will resume visa services for Canadians after suspending them in September due to strained diplomatic relations. The decision was made after Canada addressed India's concerns about "security threats" faced by Indian diplomats. The High Commission in Ottawa stated that Canadians can now apply for entry, business, medical, and conference visas. The resumption comes amidst the fallout of allegations of Indian involvement in the murder of an Indian expatriate in Vancouver. Both countries have expelled each other's top diplomats, and India had previously issued a cautionary advisory to its citizens in Canada.
