Services on a 17-km section of India's first Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridor began, with the Ridership Expected to cross 10,000 on the inaugural day. The 'Namo Bharat' train journey received an overwhelming response from commuters, who arrived as early as 4.30 am. The train is equipped with hi-tech features and passenger amenities, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the section of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS Corridor. The RRTS is a new rail-based, semi-high-speed commuter transit system, and the entire 82.15 km corridor is targeted to be operational by June 2025.
