Miami Mayor Suarez suspends 2024 GOP presidential bid after failing to qualify for debate

Miami Mayor Francis Suarez has suspended his bid for the presidency in the 2024 race after failing to qualify for the first Republican debate. He launched his campaign two months ago, positioning himself as the first sitting mayor and first Latino elected president. Suarez had hoped to boost his donor numbers by offering incentives such as front-row tickets to see Lionel Messi's debut and a "$20 Bidenomics Relief Card." While he had been critical of former President Donald Trump in the past, Trump's former White House counselor Kellyanne Conway had suggested Suarez as a possible vice presidential pick.
