Unión Deportiva Almería was founded in 1989 in Ameria. They host their games at Power Horse Stadium which can hold 15,374 spectators. UD Almeria came up as all the football clubs in the town merged together to form a unified front and register themselves into the league in 1929.
The club managed to gain promotion in the 2022 Segunda División play-offs that was played from 1 June to 19 June 2022.
