5 players who impressed the most in Liverpool pre-season

The pre-season is finally over for Liverpool. The Reds played five friendly matches - and the Community Shield showdown with Man City - as they built up fitness for the 2022/23 campaign.

Here's a list of five players who in our opinion stood out the most over the past few weeks.

Darwin Nunez

It took him a couple of games to arrive but when he did, he scored four goals against Leipzig. He had a massively impressive 30-minute stint in the Community Shield, too, as he scored and won a penalty.

Fabio Carvalho

The 19-year-old has proved that he already belongs to the first team at Anfield with his appearances on the left of the front three. He failed to score despite having a number of chances but was more effective at creating opportunities for others.

Harvey Elliott

Played largely on the right of the attacking line and was one of the standouts from the start. Like his former Fulham teammate Carvalho, he created chances for teammates in every game.

Stefan Bajcetic

The 17-year-old showed why Liverpool decided to make him the last European signing for the academy before the Brexit restrictions kicked in. Performed well in a No.6 role, even though his primary position is centre-half.

Mohamed Salah

A boring but unavoidable pick. Mo has been sharp even in the 30 minutes he played against Man United and has been improving ever since.
