Dangerous premiered on 14 August 2020 on MX Player. Starring Bipasha Basu, Karan Singh Grover, Suyyash Rai, Sonali Raut, Natasha Suri, and Nitin Arora, the series is directed by Bhushan Patel and produced by Vikram Bhatt and Mika Singh.

To Love Is To Destroy!

When I started watching Dangerous I knew something predictable was coming my way – something told time and again in different ways. Fatal love stories and betrayal. From Othello to Dangerous, fatal love has been the root cause of a man’s end.

While the first episode of the series was interesting, the second episode featuring a ransom call was just funny and weird as the kidnapper says “Bilkul mazza nahi aa raha tumhare saath kidnapper kidnapper khelne me.” While our kidnapper here is smart, who uses a burn phone and is uncatchable, the kidnapper’s reveal is just too soon!

The series has a good pace, the episodes are short and crisp, the little suspense built around is good. But other than Bipasha’s character Neha, no other character sees character development as such to know what caused the effect. Audiences need to delve deep into the character’s mind to understand them and relate at some level.

It is like Bollywood packed in a mini tiffin. There are full-length tracks, dances, a bit of suspense, romance, ransom, sex, and skin. The series has it all but at a certain point, the lack of depth takes the whole pace and quality back.

When love gets frustrating, divorce. Don’t recklessly build plans after watching ID and get caught. The series has its fair share of flaws but it does not go on and waste its viewer’s time with long episodes. Instead they are short and sum up the story with ease.

Neha’s character is strong and Basu has done an impressive job here. Suyyash Rai as Vishal plays a good anti-hero and does justice to his role. Karan Singh Grover as Aditya Dhanraj is predictable but his acting is good and watchable. The biggest surprise that a character gave me in the series was Natasha Suri as Gauri, the only unexpected thing in the series is Suri’s character.

Stream It or Skip It

STREAM IT! Dangerous is a good watch if you’re looking for something which doesn’t have many unexpected twists or turn and is light on your head. The series is predictable but it does not leave you utterly disappointed at the end.
