ErgoTune Supreme V3 Review (From a Real User)

If you've read my guide on the best standing desks in Australia, you probably know I'm a big fan of them. However, standing for too long can also be detrimental, posing similar effects as sitting for prolonged hours. Searching for the perfect Chair, I came across the Ergotune Supreme V3 and I was keen to get it.

At first, I thought it looked a little bit ugly, but I was willing to forgive that for the ergonomics, after assembling it and putting it in my office it looked much better than I thought. Now after using it for over a month, the ErgoTune Supreme V3 was a great choice. Here's everything you should know about it.

Best Parts of the ErgoTune Supreme V3

The ErgoTune Supreme V3 is an excellent ergonomic chair that fits a variety of use cases. It's one of the best ergonomic office chairs in Australia, ideal for home workstations and office use. Here are the best things about the ErgoTune Supreme V3.

ErgoTune Supreme V3 (Charcoal Black)

1. Suits Me As An Individual

Often, I've sat in chairs that have left me with backache and pains at the end of the day. But having spent my work hours using and testing out the ErgoTune V3, it's been a pleasant and comfortable experience. The Desk Chair weighs 31 kg and comes in three sizes; small (140-160cm), medium (160-180cm), and tall (180-210cm) for various body heights.

You choose the best size to suit you based on your height and then you have so many ways to adjust the chair to avoid strain and discomfort.

2. Ergonomic design

The ErgoTune Supreme V3 has all the features you expect from an ergonomic chair. It features up to 11 adjustment points, making it suitable for many use cases. The video below details all the adjustment points of the ErgoTune Supreme V3 desk chair.

How to Adjust the ErgoTune Supreme V3

You can adjust the seat height, backrest, armrest, and headrest according to your preference. The lumbar support also automatically adjusts to offer the best support during prolonged work hours. Before getting the ErgoTune Supreme V3, I had no idea how much of a difference these features could make. Now, I can relax and rest my head comfortably at any angle without needing a neck pillow.

The cherry on top is its seat depth adjustment, more commonly found in the higher-end options. The ErgoTune Supreme V3 seat adjustment ensures good blood circulation to your legs and support beneath your knees. So that when you try to get up, your legs haven't fallen asleep.

3. Great comfort

The desk chair is very comfortable to use.  The mesh material, DuraWeave hybrid mesh, on the ErgoTune Supreme V3 is perfect for anyone living in a hot region, or in my situation, I often work in the evenings and my wife will have the heating on downstairs, the heat rises, the mesh seat has kept me cooler. Previously I was using a gaming chair that did have lumbar support but has a different feel to the lower back, the ErgoTune Supreme seemed quite firm at the beginning, but not for long.

If you can imagine the feel of a strong mesh backrest on your back, you have a good idea of the ErgoTune Supreme V3.

Though comfort is a relative experience, my experience with other previous desk chairs makes it evident that the ErgoTune Supreme V3 does offer a missing component in the reasonably priced options. You get a relaxed, firm experience on the desk chair without aches—depending on your correct posture and use of course.

4. Seamless recline

Have you ever tried to lean back, and your soul jumped out of your body because you felt you almost toppled over? Same here. Luckily, this hasn't been the case with this chair. Featuring a synchro-tilt mechanism, the back reclines faster than the seat angle, so your feet don't lift off the ground.

ErgoTune Supreme V3 Precision (Seamless) Recline

This also allows you to rock back and forth seamlessly in the comfort of the desk chair. So, if you're used to rocking comfortably in your desk chair, you can expect a much better push and pull from the ErgoTune Supreme V3 due to the synchro-tilt mechanism.

5. Risk-free returns

Purchasing products online can be challenging—you never know what you're getting until you have it shipped. That was a challenge for me shopping for the ideal desk chair for my workstation, but ErgoTune took this problem off my hands. The company offers 21 days free return policy that serves as a buffer for when the desk chair doesn't meet your expectations.

You only need to fill out a form on the company page, and a free doorstep collection of your purchase is arranged on your behalf. You should read the terms of their return policy before purchasing to avoid missing anything when you have to return the product.

6. 12-Year limited warranty

ErgoTune's Supreme V3 desk chair comes with 12 years limited warranty divided into two parts; a default 8 years warranty, then an extension of 4 years.

The 12-year warranty covers the desk chair's skeletal frame, aluminum frame, wheelbase, and polyamide frame. ErgoTune offers a 4-year default warranty, with an additional 4-year extension for the lumbar support, central mechanism hub, armrest mechanism, and castor mechanism.

Though this applies to all functional portions of the chair, it does not cover aesthetic defects and damage from the misuse of the chair. Read the detailed warranty information on the product page to learn more.

7. Easy to assemble

Assembling this chair was extremely easy, you are unlikely to need another pair of hands to set it up. It took me about twenty minutes, I have read elsewhere that it normally comes with detailed instructions, well actually they forgot to put them in my box. Once I realised this I just stopped and started the video below on my phone and had no issues, when the video is only two minutes long you might think they have a bad video that misses bits, but it really was simple.

8. Good value for money

The ErgoTune Supreme V3 offers good value for your money. It features the essential functionalities of a high-end desk chair while remaining moderately priced and more durable than lower-end desk chairs. At the time of writing, it costs $749.0 for all of its different sizes and color offerings.

ErgoTune's Supreme V3 is the right mix of quality and affordability, offering great value for Australians who are neither fans of lower-end desk chairs nor willing to pay huge bucks for something like a Herman Miller Cosm.

Cons of the ErgoTune Supreme V3

You can have it all. A few things stood out that prevented me from having a perfect 10/10 experience with the desk chair. They aren't outright bummers, but they could certainly be improved on to enhance the experience of the ErgoTune Supreme V3 much further.

1. No lock function

The first I noticed is the desk chair comes with no locking mechanism for the TriTune neckrest's tilt function.

The desk chair comes with no locking mechanism for the TriTune headrest's tilt function.

Thus, any appreciable force applied to it will cause it to tilt downward. Depending on your sitting posture during work, you either barely or almost always use your headrest.

It's not really a big deal at all, if you like to alternate between sitting and standing you soon remember to move your chair back by somewhere other than the neckrest.

2. Lacks Premium Armpads

The armrests on the ErgoTune Supreme V3 can also be better. It is less comfortable and feels a little plasticky when your arms are fully relaxed; It is the only thing missing to make it the ideal armrest. I should mention, however, that its dimension adjustment is very impressive.

The armrests are less comfortable and feel plasticky.

3. It Will Stain Easily

If you're accustomed to eating in your chair, I have bad news for you. Once that honey mustard touches the chair, it will no longer look the same.

I haven't deliberately spilled something on it, but the mesh on the desk chair would surely stain easily due to its material; that fabric-infused Duraweave would be a magnet for stain. This will be less of an issue if you get the charcoal black option, but you might want to skip over the other two colour options; coral red and aqua blue.

Should You Buy the ErgoTune Supreme V3?

Now you know the best and bad parts of the ErgoTune Supreme V3 desk chair. If you're considering it, there are a few things to know.

Having used the desk chair for over a month, I recommend it primarily for anyone with posture problems. It is undoubtedly the best choice for people needing neck and lumbar support. Truth be told, when working a 9 to 5 job, it's tough to alternate between sitting and standing. This chair will keep your spine in shape regardless.

The desk chair is also ideal for anyone living in a hot or humid environment. Investing in a padded chair while living in a hot, humid country isn't ideal. That's why mesh chairs like the ErgoTune Supreme V3, which are much more breathable, are the ideal options to keep you cool. Plus, they won't accumulate sweat or urm, posterior emissions, okay, farts. Well, it's a worthwhile consideration.

ErgoTune's Supreme V3 is not a soft-furnishing comfort chair, but it sure will provide you with all the support you need to stay active for long periods. Its 12-year warranty and durable, quality build also makes it an ideal investment for users looking to make a long-lasting purchase for a durable desk chair.

If you're not a big fan of mesh, consider getting a desk stool, especially if you're working with a standing desk. Likewise, users looking for alternative ways to break sedentary behaviors might consider a balance board or antifatigue mats to enhance their experience.

Verdict

The ErgoTune Supreme V3 has two nemeses in the market: the trendy NeueChair and the timeless Herman Miller Aeron. The Aeron may be prettier, but it costs more than twice as much.

This leaves the ErgoTune Supreme V3 as a fantastic bargain for the quality it provides. It will make a world of difference if you are coming from low-end desk chairs and will ensure a proper sitting posture to boost your health overall—you will be very comfortable in this chair.
