Converse Goes Weatherproof

And just like that, we set aside our Espadrilles and white sneakers for footwears with more material. The rainy days are here, just in case you didn't notice. But Converse's proposition is to take the change of climate head on by wearing its comfortable new sneaker designs that are weatherproof.

At the roof deck of the Ace Hotel and Spa in Ortigas, Converse invited the online media for first dibs of these fantastic new designs. The stars weren't exactly out that evening but that's exactly what Converse has in mind -- the ultimate test that the show will go on, rain or shine. They don't have to worry since everyone that night were asked to wear the Converse Chuck Taylor II Shield Canvas.

Changed to my Converse Chuck Taylor II Shield Canvas which feels both so secure and so comfy. It combines the enhanced comfort of the Lunarlon sockliner, non-slip padded tongue and micro-suede lining put together with materials that can withstand the harshest of weather conditions. My favorite physical feature of the shoes are the barrel laces which is glow in the dark that can definitely help in low-light situations. (SRP PhP4,550)

When we say wet in Manila, we mean WET. So here are your rainy day Converse go-to foot gears. And here are some of the photos from the launch.

The Converse Chuck ii Rubber High Top is part of the Chuck Taylor All Star ii Rubber Collection which incorporates a transparent rubber overlay on the Chuck II silhouette that allows the sneaker to breathe while repelling water and protecting feet from other elements. All these features of comfortability are included: Lunarlon sockliner, non-slip padded tongue, micro-perforated leather lining for comfort, and a heat reflecting barrier at the footbed for warmth. (SRP = PhP5,430)

The Converse Cons One Star Shield Canvas also gets an anti-climate change overhaul. The enhanced comfort of the Lunarlon sockliner is combined with a lightweight and breathable canvas that can withstand the rain. Added features include the gusseted tongue and removed media eyelets that allows the sneaker to tolerate wet environment. (SRP = PHP4,250)

Also weather ready are the Converse Jack Purcel Signature Twill Shield Canvas and Jack Purcell Signature M-Series which are warm, durable and water-repellent.

Look! Celebrities couldn't hide their love for Converse too! Benjamin Alves and Bianca Umali can be both be happy on the posh red carpet or on wet location grounds with their Converse shoes.
