Use AI website content creation or get left in the dust?

With advancements in AI technology, website content creation has never been easier. AI-powered tools can generate SEO-friendly articles in a matter of minutes, saving you valuable time and resources. Lastly, AI-powered content creation tools can enhance the overall quality of your content. These tools are equipped with natural language processing capabilities, allowing them to generate engaging and compelling articles that resonate with your target audience. AI can analyze vast amounts of data and identify trending topics, ensuring that your content remains relevant and up-to-date.

Incorporating AI into your content writing process can revolutionize the way you create content. By leveraging the power of AI, you can save time, improve accuracy, and enhance the quality of your articles.

Personalising content creation using AI algorithms

Personalisation is becoming increasingly important in content marketing.

AI-powered tools can analyze user data, like browsing behavior and preferences, to understand individual user profiles. This information can then be used to generate personalised content recommendations. By tailoring your content to individual users’ interests and preferences, you can enhance engagement and foster long-term relationships with your audience.

Additionally, AI algorithms can personalise the user experience on your website. This can significantly improve user engagement and increase the likelihood of conversion.

AI-driven content curation and recommendation

AI-driven content curation tools can help you discover and curate relevant and engaging content for your audience.

These tools can analyze vast amounts of data, including social media posts, articles, and videos, to identify trending topics and popular content. AI algorithms can then curate this content, ensuring that you provide your audience with the most relevant and up-to-date information.

Furthermore, AI-powered recommendation systems can help you deliver personalized content recommendations to your audience. These systems analyze user behavior and preferences to suggest content that aligns with individual interests. By providing personalized content recommendations, you can enhance user engagement and increase the time spent on your website.

3 potentially fatal pitfalls of relying on AI for writing website content

On the flip side, while you might save tonnes of time in creating content, there are a few things that are worth considering seriously before you hit publish on your first AI articles.

1. AI is NOT YOU. It cannot write in your voice and your readers can tell.

This might seem obvious, but AI cannot reproduce your unique voice and writing style. While there are definitely things you can do in the prompts you offer AI to reduce your posts reading like a robot, if you value the people that read your posts you will have to spend time editing.

2. Generally, AI can only regurgitate old information

AI cannot search the internet for current information, it relies on the data it has been trained on. Therefore, while it can be great at producing general information articles that offer a bump in SEO, it will likely be out-dated and nothing ground-breaking. Also, when writing for SEO, it can get very repetitive for the sake of stuffing keywords, which will likely end up losing you rankings, not helping them.

3. It can get things very, very wrong.

AI for content writing is only as good as your prompts. Also, since its relying on information in its database that could be very out dated, it may also get things completely wrong. Therefore, when using AI, it is VITAL that you read and edit any information it generates before publishing.

AI powered content creation tools

It seems like since ChatGPT was first launched in November 2022, everything has gone stupid for AI. The decision to write this post came about when Elementor Pro integrated AI into its editor – we’ve now got a little pink button anywhere you’re typing text! But which one to use? There are now so many, AI is everywhere, how do you know what to try?

Chat GPT

When I think AI writing, the first that comes to mind is is GPT-3 (Generative Pre-trained Transformer 3). GPT-3 is a language model developed by OpenAI that can generate human-like text based on a given prompt. This tool can be used to create blog posts, social media captions, and even product descriptions. GPT-3 has been trained on a vast amount of data, allowing it to generate coherent and contextually appropriate content.

Jarvis

Another notable AI writing tool is Jarvis, developed by Conversion.ai. Jarvis is an AI-powered assistant that can generate engaging and SEO-friendly content. This tool uses natural language processing to understand user inputs and generate relevant content. Jarvis can assist with various aspects of content creation, including topic research, headline generation, and even editing suggestions.

AI content writing technology is still in its infancy. You will save time in coming up with ideas and drafting content, but you will need to dedicate time to editing and fact-checking any AI generated content, from any platform.

Overcoming challenges and ethical concerns in AI website content creation

In addition to the pitfalls mentioned above, ethical concerns also arise when AI is used to generate content that can be misleading or deceptive. AI algorithms can learn from biased or unreliable data, leading to the dissemination of inaccurate information. It is essential to ensure that AI-generated content is fact-checked and verified before publishing.

AI-generated content can also raise concerns about copyright infringement. AI algorithms can learn from copyrighted content and potentially produce plagiarised material. It is crucial to respect copyright laws and ensure that AI-generated content is original and does not infringe on intellectual property rights.

I also think that it is worth considering notifying your readers when your content is AI-generated, or at the very least not claiming it as your own work. We will be adopting this in the future, making it clear on our blog when we have utilised AI to write for us.

Incorporating AI into your content strategy

Keen as a bean to get started!? Here’s our top 5 tips to get started.

1. Read, edit and fact-check everything AI generates before publishing.

2. Use AI sparingly – your unique brand voice is important for consistency so ensure you have a good balance of AI and human created content. Well-written and unique human generated content will always trump AI.

3. Use AI to help you come up with blog/social media post ideas, topic research and generating engaging headlines. AI can really flourish in the topic/research department by reviewing huge amounts of data very quickly.

4. Keep a reference list of prompts that produced a good outcome as you go. Eg, if you use the phrase ‘write in the voice of [insert writing sample, email, website URL]’ the content produced should use language more similar to your own.

5. As AI evolves, experiment with different AI systems. If you do decide to try out systems that are built-in to an editor (like the Elementor Pro, or RankMath AI), then ensure that your page is safely saved/backed up BEFORE allowing AI to make changes. This ensures that if the changes are incorrect or generally suck, you can revert back to your original writing.

Good luck!
