3 Pretty Hairstyles for Valentine’s Day

Tags: hair curls wand

I’m not the kind of girl to do my Hair for any occasion. My idea of doing my hair is braiding it or maybe straightening it if I’m feeling fancy and then calling it a day. So, when I was sent the Irresistible Me Sapphire 8 in 1 Complete Curling Wand, I didn’t have high expectations of liking it, but I was super surprised to find that I really do like it and it’s incredibly easy to use, even if you’re incredibly lazy or lack the hair skills (like me LOL). Since I had such an easy (and actually fun) time using this curling wand set, I decided I wanted to share 3 pretty hairstyles for Valentine’s Day that are easy to customize, dress up or down, and have fun with in any way you like.

Irresistible Me Sapphire 8 in 1 Complete Curling Wand

Here’s a look at what’s included with the Irresistible Me Sapphire 8 in 1 Complete Curling Wand set. It comes with the main handle and cord with 8 different curling wand attachments of various sizes and shapes. There are several different wand curling barrels, tapered curling wands of varying widths, and then a funky wand with a bunch of bulbs on it for more natural looking Curls (shown below).

Also included is a heat protective glove for you to wear while using this curling wand so you don’t burn your fingers or anything. It’s actually really helpful. I thought I would be smart and not use it at first, but then I burnt my finger and realized, Oh. That’s why the glove was included. I am an idiot. So, yeah. Use the glove, people!

Everything in this set comes in a convenient box and then the wands and everything are neatly organized in this roll up pouch where each wand has it’s own little pocket which is handy for storage, especially if you live in a one bedroom apartment like I do.

3 Pretty Hairstyles for Valentine’s Day

I weirdly decided to show all the hairstyles up in my face, circa 2005 Myspace style. I don’t know why I just like the look of it (artistically) better than normal photos (don’t judge me!). Anyway, you can see the hair pretty okay, I hope!

Touseled Hair

This first hairstyle was done with the largest barrel wand in the set. I previously straightened my hair so if you want this look and don’t already have straight hair, then I recommend doing that beforehand or a day ahead of time to make things easier on yourself. Once that’s done, loosely curled small sections of your hair around the barrel and hold for 20-30 seconds each time. You can do as much of your hair as your like. I did mainly the front with a few pieces in the back to keep it consistent. It doesn’t look curled necessarily, but I was going for more of a messy hair look. You can hold your hair on the barrel for a few seconds longer if you want more of the curl to come through. That’s totally up to you. I finished this look with a light mist of Olivine Love + Salt Spray {REVIEW HERE} which is great for loose waves and smells like a tropical paradise.

Natural Romantic Curls

This next hairstyle are really natural, almost Victorian style curls. I created them using the funky barrel with all the little bulbs (balls?) on it. It creates really natural looking curls because the barrel alternates between wider and smaller so the curls come out looking more like real curls would. The effect is super pretty! I curled various pieces of my hair and then I used a few bobby pins to secure my hair over to one side. The effect is super romantic and perfect for date night, Valentine’s Day, an upcoming wedding or event, or anytime you want to feel fancy! To finish this look, I used Tabitha James Kraan Hair Perfume as it includes natural plant oils in a spray form which helps the hair look healthy and nourished while fighting frizz.

Big Fancy Curls

This last hairstyle was done with a medium sized barrel wand. I held the wand on various strands of my hair for 20-40 seconds each depending on how long it took my hair to hold the curl. These curls look a lot more done up and less natural than the previous one because they are bigger curls. You can keep them big and rock that look or you can shake each curl out for a more messy, natural look; it’s really up to you. I also think these kinds of curls would be pretty if you put your hair in a pony tail or low side pony tail and then you could just curl the ends. The result is very pretty, romantic, and understated. To complete this look, I used some OLO Healthy Locks Dry Shampoo because my roots were feeling a little oily and that helped bring back some volume – plus it smells amazing ♥
