Best Additions for Fall Smoothies

When you think of Smoothies, you probably think of summer, berries and tropical fruits. However, with a few small tweaks, you can make warmer, delicious fall smoothies. You just need to know the right fruits and veggies to add to your smoothies to give them that comforting fall feel and give you the nutrients you need to feel amazing.

  • Try a pear smoothie with vanilla and honey. Pears will add a natural sweetness, antioxidant and fiber boost to your smoothies. Adding vanilla and honey will give it natural sweetness without adding processed sugar.
  • Add a traditional fall favorite to your smoothies: chai tea. Try a smoothie with banana, almond butter, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, and nutmeg to get that chai flavor. You can also try a chai tea powder, liquid or a chai flavored protein powder.
  • Carrot cake oatmeal smoothie: Add carrots, oats, milk, vanilla protein powder and cinnamon. Takes just like cake without the added sugar!
  • An unusual but delicious combination is beets and figs. Both at their peak in the fall, they complement each other well. Add banana, coconut milk, and almond butter.
  • Sweet potatoes are also at their peak in the fall. If you aren’t ready to give up summer smoothies just yet, add mango and sweet potatoes to your blender and some protein powder, maple syrup and chia seeds for a healthy and yummy treat.
  • Ever thought about mixing chocolate and cauliflower? Probably not, but adding frozen cauliflower to your smoothies actually gives it an amazing texture and nutrients without adding any weird flavor. Add chocolate protein powder, cacao nibs or powder and milk to frozen cauliflower. It will be the healthiest, most delicious chocolate shake you’ve ever had! Add maca powder if you like a malted chocolate taste.
  • Of course, we couldn’t forget pumpkin! Add some canned pumpkin to your smoothie for a delicious fall recipe. Also, try adding some coffee to make your own pumpkin spice Frappuccino at home.
