For this recipe you need:

  • 1-2 tbsp Argan Oil
  • 3-5 drops Rosemary essential oil
  • 3-5 drops Lavender essential oil
  • 3-5 drops Tea Tree essential oil

If you have longer hair, you may need to double these amounts for full coverage.

Mix all the ingredients together. Apply the mixture to dry hair, rubbing it gently into your hair and scalp. Tuck your hair into a shower cap and leave it this way for one hour. You can also place a warm, damp towel over the cap if you’d like. Then rinse the mixture out with warm water. Shampoo and condition your hair using your normal products. You may need to repeat this to remove all the oils. Dry your hair and style as usual.

#3 – Essential Oil Hot Oil Treatment:

Another way to nourish your hair is to use a hot oil treatment. It can help reduce breakage and improve damaged hair.

For this recipe you need:

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 6 drops Peppermint essential oil
  • 4 drops Rosemary essential oil
  • 2 tsp Jojoba oil
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil

Pour 1-2 cups of water in a medium saucepan and bring it to a boil. Turn it down to low heat and let the water simmer. Place the olive oil, the Jojoba oil and the coconut oil in a heatproof bowl and put it over the water. Simmer the combined oils for 5 minutes. Then remove the bowl from the heat. Let the oils cool a bit, but make sure they are still warm. Add the essential oils and stir the mixture. Begin applying the hot oil mixture to your hair. Do this by dipping your fingertips in the oil and gently massaging it in. Start at your scalp and work your way down to the ends of your hair. When your hair is completely coated, cover it with a shower cap. Leave it on for about 30 minutes, then shampoo your hair. You may need to shampoo more than once to remove all the hot oil from your hair.

#4 – Essential Oil Shampoo:

Making your own shampoo is safer than most of the store-bought brands. This is because it will be natural and free of unwanted chemicals. Depending on your hair needs, which essential oils to use may vary. The rest of the ingredients will stay the same.

For this recipe you need:

  • ¼ cup canned coconut milk
  • ½ cup liquid castile soap
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 tbsp Vitamin E oil

40-50 drops essential oils (total for all the oils, not for each one)
For a flaky scalp, use 10 drops each of lavender, tea tree, lemon, and rosemary essential oils.

For hair loss, use 10 drops each of peppermint, lavender, cedarwood, and rosemary essential oils.

Choose the bottle you want for your shampoo. A squeeze bottle is best, but you can use any bottle you like. Combine all the ingredients in the bottle. Put the lid on and shake the contents well. Your shampoo is ready to use. Keep in mind, you will need to shake the bottle each time you use your shampoo. This will ensure a proper mixture each time.
