AD – Our First Gallery Wall with Desenio

Sponsored by Desenio. After spending so much time staying indoors over the last year and a half, our family was overdue a bit of a revamp this year. We realised that things had become stale with our current decor, and we wanted to enjoy our Living space again so that we could relax more easily and make the most of each other’s company. So we thought we’d try out our first gallery wall with the help of Desenio! I spend a lot of time upstairs, between my office and my bedroom, so when I come downstairs into my living room I want to know that I am totally comfortable in my living space. I definitely wasn’t there at the start of 2020, but I think after lots of hard work and some magical finishing touches, I am well on my way. Soft furnishings The first thing that we changed in our living room was actually in 2020, and we decided to add some curtains for the first time ever. I was really worried that they would stand out because I wasn’t used to them, but now I can’t imagine our living room without them. Curtains became a gateway element, and soon we had matching cushions, a gorgeous soft rug, and all of the trimmings to make a really luxurious living room space.  We’re all about comfort so soft furnishing actually make a huge difference to the room and our comfort levels! I can’t wait to go nap nap in our new cushions. Upgrading the walls I’ve never been fantastic at interior design, and I find the idea of putting something together really overwhelming. We gave the walls a fresh lick of paint, but the plan is to have fancy metallic paint in the living room too. After successfully doing the kitchen wall, it shouldn’t be long! When I started to think about making a Desenio gallery wall full of artwork I was immediately drawn to gold frames to highlight the metallic accents that we already had going on. I had absolutely no idea where to start, so I used Desenio’s online tool to plan your gallery wall virtually. At first, I was totally overwhelmed and had a bit of a breakdown with it, but I trusted the process and grabbed a load of pieces that I thought would work well, selecting extras just in case. In the end, I was really happy with how it came together, and my first choices with the online gallery tool worked so well that I was able to give my extras to my friend Ryan to decorate his own living room, where they are now living a very happy life!  Plans for the future The biggest change that we want to make in our living room in 2022 is finding the perfect sofa for our family. Bigger is always better in our minds, so we definitely don’t want to go a size down from what we’ve got now, which has left us struggling to find that brand new, key piece of furniture to complete the room. We are going to keep searching, though – we know our perfect couch is out there! Of course, I’m always looking to bring more cat furniture into our living space too – though my family might have something to say about that!   Have you upgraded any rooms in your house this year, maybe you’ve tried Desenio? I love seeing a home renovation project, so share links to yours in the comments below!
