Dyson Airwrap Review & GIVEAWAY!

You read that right, I am giving away a Dyson Airwrap (and £400 on my Instagram!) I’ve had my Dyson Airwrap for 2 years now but it actually took me most of a year to buy it myself. I watched every review on the Internet, I did so much research it got to the point where I could spot when Youtubers were using it wrong! I even went to play with it in-store and could immediately use it properly, and started showing passers-by how to use it as well. I thought it was exactly what I needed to make getting ready easier, quicker, and less painful and I was absolutely right. With my chronic pain, drying and styling my hair is quite literally painful so being able to dry and style it in one really does save time. Not only that but the long design of the Dyson Airwrap means I don’t have to move it around much to dry my hair. The cost of £449.99 is extremely expensive but for the amount of pain it’s saved me, time, and that I can do more with my hair than I would without it, it’s worth it for me. I can get salon-quality hair at home, by myself, with ease. How does the Dyson Airwrap work? It’s basically powered by air, the air is pushed around in one direction that creates the ‘Coanda effect’ which basically means the air is attracted to the wand and wraps around it. It’s quite magical to watch but it means all those little flyaway hairs are drawn to it. It mimics a blow-dry at a salon basically but you don’t have to move your arms around half as much! In fact, just a slow movement towards your roots is all that’s needed. Sometimes I find that I have to manually turn once or twice at the top just to really lift my roots but it’s not an issue. How hot is the Dyson Airwrap? One of the main selling points on the Dyson Airwrap is that there’s no extreme heat. I do actually find it really hot but that’s where the blast of cold comes in handy! I have to blast that intermittently and then a proper cold blast at the end to set the curls and then I pin the curls to get the look I want. It has a heat control that measures the heat and it always stays below 150°C meaning that overall it’s better for the health of your hair over a long period of time. What attachments does the Dyson Airwrap come with? You can buy it with just some attachments but I wanted them all so I could try them all out. My favourite is obviously the dryer itself, my hair dries in record time and with minimal movement from my achy arms. The Barrels that curl the hair come in both 30mm and 40mm with long options. Ideally, the long option is the easiest to get but my hair is fine with the standard size. I’ve found that you’ll know if you need a smaller section of hair. There are 3 brush options for the Dyson Airwrap, Soft Smoothing, Firm Smoothing, and Round Volumising. The soft is for a smooth blow-dry finish, not completely straight but smooth. The firm smoothing is for a straighter look, and then the round volumising is for achieving that proper big volume blow-dry look. Ideally, before using the attachments you’re meant to dry your hair to 80% and then use your chosen add-on for whatever style you’re wanting to create. Have you noticed any issues with the Dyson Airwrap?  The only one has been that if you don’t clean the filter as often as you should, a safety feature is for the Dyson to actually shut off and stay off until it’s probably cleaned and safe. This is to avoid it overheating and to make sure it’s properly maintained. I’m adding it into this post as I really did panic, but it comes with a cleaning brush and I’ve never had the same problem since. Really simple but I wanted to make sure no one runs into the same issue! Giveaway Time! I’ve been trying to settle on a giveaway since my blog turned 8 this year and I kept going between lots of little prizes or big prizes, after asking everyone on Instagram if they’d prefer random gifts, a Dyson Airwrap or vouchers, the Dyson and vouchers came up the most. So I eventually settled on giving away a Dyson Airwrap, and then on my Instagram post, I’m giving away £400 (£100 x 4 preloaded cards) so that they can be spent on anything, anywhere! I thought this was easier than vouchers as can you believe some vouchers are still in-store only? Anyway, the rules are, UK only, the giveaway will last a month, and then I’ll send it first class recorded within the week. I’ll provide you with the date bought and recommend that you register a Dyson account and register for your 2-year guarantee.
