There are countless youtube tutorials how to apply lipsticks perfectly. They seem kinda fussy and meticulous. Nothing could be worse than smudging, bleeding pout. Gotta say lipstick unquestionably means so much to women. It’s not because we want to get hit on; but rather be able to show up our confidence, maturity and sexiness.

It’s allegedly meant to lift up women’s mood. That might be a quick answer for impulse buying, even though you’re running short of money. And also, we’ve got something to celebrate together on July 29.

I’m gonna share interesting lipsticks that are very worth to try and certainly familiar to most of us. Let’s come down to my review of ColourPop Lippie Stix in three shades, Who Run This, Topanga and With The Band. The brand has lately triggered my series of impulse purchases with incredible deals.

1. About the Product

The lippies promise to deliver gorgeous one-swipe pigmentation in a silky matte finish. Infused with moisturizing and gentle ingredients that give a comfortable feeling on your lips in the absence of harsh, toxic chemicals.

Formulated with Cyclopentasiloxane, Caprylyl Methicone, Stearyl Methicone, Cyclohexasiloxane, Phenyl Trimethicone and Trimethylsiloxysilicate. These common silicone derivatives and based polymers provide conditioning, softening, lubricant and occlusive effects. The ingredients enhance the product’s texture, diminish dryness, increase spreadability and add opacity. Also, there are included polymers, like Polyethylene and Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer as film former, binder, emulsion stabilizer and viscosity regulating agents.

Moreover, the product consists of Lauryl Laurate, C12-16 Alcohol, Microcrystalline Wax, Paraffin, Synthetic Beeswax. They tend to result in smooth, slippery feeling to the touch and opaque coverage. Microcrystalline Wax and Paraffin are two major categories of petroleum waxes.

The Paraffin is brittle and hard with a clearly defined crystal structure, colorless and good water barrier. In contrast, Microcrystalline Wax has a less defined crystalline structure, darker color and high viscosity and melting points. These waxes work as thickening, conditioning, emulsifying, stabilizing and texture enhancing agents.

Blended with numerous natural ingredients that are supposed to make your lips stay healthy and moist. The formulation contains Shea Butter (Butyrospermum Parkii), Mango (Mangifera Indica) Seed Butter, Avocado (Persea Gratissima) Oil, Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil and Soybean (Glycine Soja) Oil.

These ingredients are packed with potent moisturizing and healing properties that prevent your pout from being stripped off. Plus, there are included glycerin, Tocopherol (vitamin E), Palmitic Acid (fatty acid), Betaine (amino acid) and Hydrogenated Lecithin. These constituents function as humectants and nourishing factors to restore and make moisture bound to your lips.

Last but not least, infused with synthetic pigments of Iron Oxides and Lakes, which are produced by precipitating a soluble dye with a metallic salt.

2. My Thoughts

Gotta admit those lippies are gorgeous and especially, very wearable on a variety of skin tones, I couldn’t get enough of this. Who Run This Matte X is a pop of rusty red with a hint of orange. This is the most flattering I had to make it my everyday commitment. It’s splendidly pigmented and gliding on bare skin without any uneven patches to provide a velvety matte finish. There are two ways to apply Who Run This, I can merely dab to the inner sections of my lips and use my fingertip to spread out; in contrast, do full-lips application for a bold, tempting look.

Another fever is With The Band Matte X, which gives a light to medium peachy pink, it looks slightly nude on me. As you can see, the lipstick also brings about a matte finish. The product has a beautiful color payoff and it’s literally my comfort zone to fill in my pout all the way, I usually wear it at work.

These two tend to be indeed pigmented, blendable and buildable as well as result in nearly opaque coverage with extremely lightweight, smooth textures. However, when swiping on my lips or doing swatches, I’ve just realized With The Band appears to be darker than its color indication at the bottom of the tube.

One thing I don’t like about the Matte X is that the lippies are fairly dry to me, they don’t bring sufficiently moist consistency as I expected. My lips are prone to get chapped after continuously wearing in a few days. Then, I have to exfoliate and apply lip balm all time prior to putting the lippies on. this really leaves a plump, supple look, my lips don’t feel painfully dry anymore.

The lipsticks don’t cause sequential nuisances, such as feathering or bleeding. But, you might still need the “tini” help of lip liner to keep them from smudging and fill in your lips neatly. ColourPop has released an array of lippie pencils with matching colors for every single Lippie Stix. The lipsticks’ sharp diagonal tip seems to gradually turn into the round top after several uses, it will not be able to deliver precise applications anymore. So, let the lippie pencil lend you a hand!

Speaking of Topanga, which is much different from Who Run This and With The Band. The product gives a marvelously emollient texture rather than the remaining two shades. Topanga is a bright coral pink with a satin finish that adds mild sheen to various dimension of my lips. Furthermore, the shade is genuinely sweet and ethereal. It smoothes out fine lines and cracks. I really like the look on my lips, not caked on and flaky either. Plus, it literally has amazing pigmentation.

The satin finish is made with noticeably tackier, creamier consistency. In contrast, the Matte X gives a drier texture and tends to be transferred proof after blotting away some excess product. The Colourpop Lippie Stix seem not to have any particular odors, their scent is imperceptibly sweet, not overwhelming at all. Also, the products’ staying power is pretty flattering for about 7 to 8 hours. But, it will not stand for meals with soup and a lot of oil.

3. Packaging

The lipstick comes in a little full white tube, which looks like a pen. The packaging design is clean and simple I can tell. Both head and bottom part indicate the shades. And, you can scroll the top to show more product. I think this is nice, but be careful girls, the scrolling part is easily broken and the lipstick can fall out of the tube if it’s crashed badly.

4. Rating 8/10

These lippies are undisputedly desirable for girls who need something great at an affordable price. What a cheap thrill! Thanks to that, you are able to try out numerous fascinating shades of the product line. I’d like to give it 8 out of 10.
