Seven Inexpensive Anti-Aging Methods to Try

There has been a lot of hype about the use of plastic surgery to turn back the clock on aging lately. However, surgical procedures can be invasive and expensive. Below is a list of seven inexpensive anti-aging methods you can try instead of surgery.

1.Using Chemical Peels to Resurface the Skin

Resurfacing procedures are quite common in the skincare industry. Such procedures are defined as any skincare techniques which remove portions of the outer Skin layer, as well as debris on the sin’s surface. One of the most popular types of resurfacing is a chemical peel. Chemical peels use a variety of chemicals, including betahydroxy or glycolic acids, to help lighten up the appearance of brown spots and lessen other blemishes. Most chemical peels cost between $300 and $500 and are somewhat uncomfortable, but the discomfort typically passes within 15 or 20 minutes.

2.Using Lasers to Resurface or Revitalize the Skin

Another available option you can try is using lasers to either resurface or generally revitalize your skin. Various types of medical lasers are on the market today. Some of them perform resurfacing procedures and yield similar results to chemical peels. Such lasers are known as ablative devices. However, non-ablative laser treatments which improve collagen production and functionality, strengthening the skin over time are also available. The cost of laser treatment typically starts at $800 per session and may increase, depending on the type of device used and the nature of the treatment.

3.Using Microdermabrasion to Resurface the Skin

Microdermabrasion is a process which works in a similar way to chemical peels or ablative laser procedures. However, rather than using light, intense heat, or chemicals to accomplish the task a microdermabrasion tool simply sands the skin, usually using tiny crystals. Microdermabrasion sessions typically cost between $100 and $450 each.

4.Using Botox Injections to Reduce Wrinkles and Sags

Botox is a toxic substance, but it has been used in small doses quite safely to treat wrinkles and skin sags for years. The toxin paralyzes the muscles in the treated area temporarily. In turn, that paralysis causes the skin to appear more taut than usual. However, the effect typically only lasts for four months or less, and each session costs approximately $150 to $500.

5.Using Fillers to “Inflate” the Skin

Injections of fillers is also a popular way to treat skin wrinkles. Dermal fillers are substances which are injected under the skin to fill space, much like inflating a deflated balloon. The price of a filler treatment can vary greatly, depending on the type of filler used. A general price range for such treatments is $400 to $1700.

6.Using Sclerotherapy to Treat Spider Veins

Varicose and spider veins can also be signs of aging. They do not respond to the same treatments which help to control wrinkles and skin sags. However, sclerotherapy can treat those vein problems quickly and easily Sclerotherapy is a fancy term for the injection of salt solutions (saline) under the skin. The saline creates scar tissue under the skin. That scar tissue masks the blue color of spider and varicose veins, making the treated area look better. Sclerotherapy session costs vary based on how many veins need to be treated and their sizes, but you should expect to spend anywhere from $150 to $1,000 per session.

7.Using Special Formulas for Hair Growth

Hair loss is another potentially embarrassing sign of aging. One inexpensive way to treat hair loss is by purchasing a formula for hair growth, such as Latisse. Latisse and other prescription formulas for hair growth can gradually stimulate hair follicles. However, it may take up to a year to see results, and the formulas typically cost $150 or more per month.
