The cervix produces different types of mucus depending on what stage of your menstrual cycle you're in.
The major role of the cervical mucus is to transport the sperm from the vagina into the fallopian tube.
And also to keep bacteria and infections out from the uterus(womb).

Dry Days: 1-2 days after menstruation, your may have little or no cervical fluid
Sticky or Pasty Days: This means you are approaching your fertile window
Creamy Days: This means you are at the beginning of your fertility window.
Egg white cervical mucus: You are most fertile. This occurs during ovulation to make the vagina sperm friendly.
Dry or creamy: After ovulation, your vaginal discharge decreases, and may appear creamy or sticky some days before your period is due. If pregnant you may notice a milky white discharge known as leukorrhea.
What is implantation?
Implantation is the process by which a fertilised egg known as blastocyst attaches itself to the walls of the uterus lining to nourish grow and develop.
Implantation usually happens 6-12 days after conception.
For some women implantation happens as early as 6 days after fertilisation, while for others it happens 12 days after fertilisation.
What does Cervical Mucus look like after conception
If trying to conceive, you may be anxious to know what every change you notice after ovulation means.
Normally after ovulation if not pregnant your CM will be lesser, creamy and thicker. This is to indicate that you are no longer fertile.
This type of mucus is also very difficult to penetrate by the sperm.
But if you are pregnant, the mucus discharge after ovulation would be milky white in nature. This type of discharge is known as leukorrhea.
Some women also experience light pink or bloody discharge before period. This is known as implantation bleeding or spotting.

During the two week wait after ovulation, don't be disappointed if you do not notice an increase in mucus production or implantation spotting.
You may still be pregnant. The best way to be sure is to take a pregnancy test after a missed period.
Around 7 weeks of pregnancy, the cervix will produce a mucus plug. The role of this mucus plug is seal or block the entrance of the cervix from infections.
Just before labour is about to start towards the end of your pregnancy, the mucus plug also known as show comes out as a lump of thick reddish jelly-like discharge.

The first 1-2 days after ovulation are usually known as the dry days.
A thick white cervical mucus after ovulation means you are no longer fertile.
An excessive milky white discharge(leukorrhea) may mean you are pregnant or your period is about to start.
You should be worried if the discharge is itchy, smelly or has a yellowish or greenish color.
Abnormal vaginal discharge is a sign of an infection. An itchy but odorless discharge is a sign of yeast infection.
A fishy odor discharge is a sign of bacteria vaginosis infection.
While chlamydia or gonorrhea also causes a yellowish or greenish discharge that is itchy.
