Spend Less at Giant Tiger (AD)

I love Giant Tiger. As an American girl in Canada, I'd say it is the store that reminds me the most of Big Lots here. A few weeks ago I was invited to a special preview of the Brampton store before it opened to the public. Letting me loose in a store that has full stock was the cherry on top of a cupcake. Giant Tiger also graciously provided me with a gift card, which I definitely went over because I saw cushions and pickles I wanted. Yep, you read that right. Pickle addict until I die, except the sweet ones (sour all the way!). You can find all kinds of things at Giant Tiger.

With the holiday season upon us, saving money where I can is a must. And I bet it is for most of you! If you're in Canada and near a Giant Tiger, I urge you to check it out. If you haven't been in a long time, it might not be what you remember. The clothes are keeping up with the trends. The house items are great. There is a really nice grocery section for the foodies out there. And speaking of the clothes, they also carry plus sizes. Not just that, but affordable! Below I'm going to share with you a few things I picked up and some things that I recommend.

So first off, I didn't realize how everything I got seemed to be black and gray. Guess we know what a lot of my winter wardrobe consists of! The bottom is a pair of patterned sleep leggings and they are so comfortable. Perfect for lounging! Second from the bottom is workout leggings for my physio sessions. The black jeggings are amazing- just the right fit and stretch. The black sweater on top is a loose knit and wonderful for layering under your winter coat and not sweating to death. If you follow my Instagram, there's a good chance you'll probably see these things on my feed or in my Stories!

I also grabbed a gray hoodie seen in the top right of the grid below. I don't have the fleece leggings pictured here, but they are on my Instagram feed. Y'all, you need their fleece leggings ($10!). I missed them last year and they sold out. So happy to finally have them! And in the bottom right, you can see the PJ set and cushions I picked out. I grabbed two for my couches and they are so fun. They are the magic sequins that change when you swipe your hand over them and I can't stop messing with them. It's mesmerizing.
They've changed the layout of the stores and it is super easy to find what you need now. Did you know they even have paint? I used the gray shade of the Blue Moose Recycled Paint in my office and our bedroom! Need paint supplies? They have those too. Pets, kids, fashion lovers, homebodies...you can find something for everyone on your list.

What if they don't like it or you just need to return something for whatever reason? Well, I was told about their easy returns and I had heard that before from other shops and it is rarely true. I can now say that I have personal experience in that area. The PJ bottoms of the set below had a seam that ripped and I took them back to get a replacement. I had the receipt, but they politely requested that I try to have the tags next time. I didn't have them this time, because I'm not in the habit of keeping the tags of something I plan to keep. That's it, no true issues. I simply took in the ripped pair (at a different store location, by the way) and walked right out with a new one, which are holding up quite nicely.

Giant Tiger was started by Gordon Reid and he and his family are still involved in everything ever since it first started in 1961 in Ottawa's Byward Market. With over 200 stores in Canada, there's a good chance that you live near one. You're bound to find some good deals at Giant Tiger, both online and in store. Everything I got was around $140 after taxes. That included: dog treats, pickles, two cushions, PJ set, three types of leggings, jeggings, one sweater, and one hoodie. I might have even forgotten something! So don't discount this discount store!
** I was provided with a Giant Tiger gift card to purchase many of the items above. All pictures and opinions are my own. There are no affiliate links in this post.
