Eating Healthy + KC City Market

So, I'm the worst about staying motivated about things for long periods of time. I always get so excited about things, and then I forget about them within a week! But I am glad I've been staying on my gym routine (post coming soon) pretty regularly and have developed a good schedule in terms of doing so, and I'm happy about that! Unfortunately, because I have never been this great about going to the gym before, my eating habits definitely aren't as great as they usually are when I go to the gym.

Normally, when I'm really into going to the gym, I eat lots more fruits and veggies and cut back on a lot of dietary fats and eating out. I think that because I've gotten so regular about going to the gym and made it part of my routine, even without being as passionate about it, my "eating healthy fad" sort of died out and I really need to get it back. That's why I'm so excited about Saturday's trip the the KC City Market!
This place makes me love living in downtown Kansas City and being able to explore fun places like the financial district, the government district, and of course, the River Market! Located just on the riverfront, vendors are able to sell fresh produce here and buyers can buy so many fruits, veggies and spices for such cheap prices at the stalls and stores lining the market! This is honestly such a great place in terms of being able to buy fruits and veggies!

I bought a baby watermelon, 5 oranges and a cucumber for less than $5 total! It beats the hustle and bustle of a grocery store to just be able to hand your money directly to a vendor and it's honestly a cultural experience that you can't beat!  Coming here definitely helps me to be able to get more excited about eating healthy, cooking and much more!
Nothing beats the rush of the market on a Saturday morning as people are picking up produce and enjoying a good morning at such a beautiful market. It makes me forget that it's downtown sometimes, just because it is such a fun contrast from the buildings and lights to see something so wonderful and human. Definitely my favorite place to buy fresh fruits and veggies! They're very yummy indeed!
