why natural makeup is always good to go - a digital tour at bobbi brown hamra (beirut, lebanon)

I always believed that everyone is beautiful, but I somehow believed that a good Makeup done on your face will make you look prettier and enhance your facial traits. In fact, I am against those makeups looks that are done on your face to transform you into another person, I mean come on.

In addition to that, we live in a country and a world where makeup has become so powerful, sometimes so powerful that people tend to depend on it and just can’t accept their natural face, makeup-free. I love makeup, I love anything that has to do with makeup but I hate it when some makeup artists try to transform your face into an unrecognizable one.

I don’t always find makeup artists in the country that just want to keep this natural touch on your face. However, throughout the year, I was able to meet some great ones that helped me get my makeup done the natural way. I can cite Hala Ajam, Bassam Fattouh, but also, makeup artists working with makeup brands such as Lancôme, L’Oréal among many. I had my makeup done several times with these makeup artists until I decided to pay a visit to the Bobbi Brown boutique in Hamra (Beirut, Lebanon) with two of my closest girlfriends, Riwa and Salma. Before meeting with the makeup artists, Léa Richa and Norma Bou Nassar, we met with the brand manager Myriam Chamoun and the digital communication officer Maria Antoun that welcomed us warmly at the boutique, which reminds me by the way of some beauty shops around New York or London. It’s a very welcoming calm boutique located in one of Beirut’s busiest streets, this contrast makes the boutique very attractive, unique and beautiful. We were served detox water and discovered new products, best seller products and classics at Bobbi Brown. An organic skin care section can be found at the shop, and trust me, you can find some great healthy products meant to improve your skin. We then discovered the story behind Bobbi Brown and how the brand managed to stand out with its vision in the beauty and cosmetics world.

Bobbi Brown, a makeup artist based in New York, made a name for herself in the cosmetics world with her brand by enforcing moderation against the 1980s trends such as contouring, dark colors and bold makeup. Bobbi Brown encouraged the preservation of a woman’s natural looks with the use of makeup. More than two decades later, Bobbi Brown keeps celebrating natural beauty. And the brand’s latest campaign “Be Who You Are” #BeWhoYouAre enhances Brown’s vision. In other words, by empowering natural beauty in a woman, Bobbi Brown empowers women and reinforces their self-confidence.

Afterwards, Riwa and I decided to try some BB products; and were both pampered by BB’s exclusive professional make-up artists. We both ended up with two completely different natural make-up styles on our faces. In fact, Riwa embodies the much dark skinned beauty whereas, my skin reflected a lighter tone and therefore a lighter make-up touch.

(And by the way, a couple of months ago, a bride threw her bachelorette party there… so you can never run out of ideas ;) )
