With local labels like Paolo Sebastian taking the world by storm, Adelaide is a city of underestimated fashion potential. This is where Adelaide Fashion Festival (AFF) comes in, aiming to provide the city's creative minds with recognition and exposure they truly deserve. The festival includes five fashion-packed days of talent, featuring established and up-and-coming designers like Jaimie Sortino and Paige Rowe, and some of the biggest Australian fashion labels. So you get the idea that this festival is kind of a big deal, right? But with so many events and shows to choose from, which ones are worth attending? We've narrowed the plethora of events to present our top five be-there-or-be-square events.
Daring and Disruptive - Lunch with Lisa Messenger
This opening event is hosted by Collective Hub founder, Lisa Messenger. With meals provided by Tasting Australia, this event is the perfect chance to hang out with one of the biggest #girlbosses in the game.
Wednesday 19 October - $120 from Event Brite
Runway 1 - BNKR
The runways are opened this year by Australian Fashion Labels (those babes that brought us Fashion Bunker), and it's a show not to be missed. From C/MEO Collective and Finders Keepers to The Fifth, Jaggar and Keepsake the Label, this show is the very best of ready-to-wear and one of the most afforable collections of the event.

Runway 5 - Ready To Wear
Adelaide's edgiest designers decide what they want to see on the streets, then design it! Leaders of urban style like SIG The Label, Casper+Pearl, STONE, Lexi, Julie White, Simmone Standing The Label, and Sylvy Earl grace the runway for this not-to-be-missed runway.

A Night Of Fashion At The Art Gallery
This event is probably the biggest of the entire festival so you'd better be there. This collaboration of the art and fashion communities of Adelaide is a sight to see, with some of the country's best designers revealing their Spring/Summer collections amongst the breathtaking architecture and lighting displays of the gallery.

Runway 7 - Paolo Sebastian
If you're not already lusting over his Gilded Wings collection, you probably should be. This king of Couture is an Adelaide fashion icon and somehow he's managed to come back home for the festival (between his jet-setting lifestyle) to present the Gilded Wings collection to the fashionistas of his hometown.
